Ok, a bit old, but I am a bit of a slow poke. Still, some reasonable stuff, Damien Rice at Summer Stage in Central Park (he is first on both entries, so you can skip after if you don't like Fiona Apple): Fiona Apple and Damien Rice Pictures!

Who's free Saturday? [09 Nov 2006|05:04pm]

I have to work ALL DAY Saturday and I need someone to get onto TicketMaster for me at 11A.M. EST and order me a some tickets for the show in Boston in December. I really one need one ticket as I know no one who lives near me who would go to a Damien Rice show with me, but it is a "seat" show (not general admission) and I would prefer not to sit up in the balcony ya'know. If someone here is going and can get an extra ticket I will give you the cash and such for it - just so as it is not the last cheap-o seat in the middle of the left wing of the nose bleed seats - not that there is any nose bleed seat at our Orpheum. :)

So, who can help?

I know some people wanted to hear Unplayed Piano, so i though I'd post this link.
It's just been posted there. I'd really suggest, however, that you buy it as well, to show Damien how much we apprciate his talent. :)

Damien Rice Homepage [18 Aug 2005|09:14pm]

Hello damien rice fans :) I'm running this new site called http://www.awesomestart.com Bascially it's a customizable homepage. It's got a google search, your favorite news links, a link to your email, and all that kind of stuff.

I'm making skins for all sorts of alternative bands. I have a whole saddle creek set on there, Evanescence, Linkin Park, a bunch for the synth rock community . . . There's maybe 35 other bands on the site. If you go to the main page you can see which are the most
popular right now. All the Saddle Creek bands seem to be up there right now, so we need to get more people adding the Damien Rice page as their homepage. That would be awesome if it was no. 1.

Anyways, the idea for these pages is you can just make one of them your homepage. That way you'll have all the links you need everytime you open up your browser. And the page will look cool because it has an awesome artist like Damien Rice on it.

Rather than clicking on the picture above, though, I recommend you customize it first by going here: http://www.awesomestart.com/preferences.php

Let me know what you guys think! There's more coming every day. I think the radiohead one is one of the best I've done yet. Oh, and please help me spread the word! If people could repost this in different places and tell your friends and stuff, that would be really cool.

Thanks for your support you guys. You rock.

Hey everyone,

I was inspired and decided to make some Damien icons. This was my first time making them, so forgive me if they're not that great.

I picked up a copy of Paste Mag(US) today, and Damien is in it! Funnily enough, I was listening to him on my ipod, when I picked it up.... anyway, He wrote a short piece in it called "My Mission to Burma", talking about his trip with Ani DiFranco to visit the refugee camps. I don't have a scanner... but if you guys can, you should read it. He is brilliant.

Also, check out this site, US Campaign for Burma,
for info on the campaign, and CD that Damien and a bunch of other artists put out to support Burma's right to freedom and democracy. (Lol, that last sentence sounds like Bush.. but I swear.. I am not a supporter.)

I was watching tonight's episode of Lost, and at the very end low and behold, they played Delicate at the very end. I screamed. I was so excited. It caught me off guard. I had no idea it was coming. It just seems like Mr. Rice is popping up on soundtracks all over the place. Totally random. But I thought I'd share nontheless.

and the western man's need to cry... [12 Jan 2005|11:57pm]

"papa(??) went to other lands, and he found someone who understand, the ticking and the western man's need to cry. he came back the other day, yea you know, somethings in life may change, and some things just stay the same...like time"

this is my favorite damien rice song, maybe i am going to assault this poor community with a long winded detailed explaination of what im talking about...but probably not

i can't just grab ahold of what this song means to me and mold it into some sort of story and then verbalize it complete with run-on sentences and grammatical errors, i just can't, this isn't easy like cheers darlin'

i can change every damn thing in my life and some things just refuse to change, some situations, some people, and even though i have a completely different life than i did a two years ago, or five years ago, it seems like many of the things that made me feel like a helpless little child refuse to go away no matter how fast i try to outrun them

for everything in my life that i can change there's something else that i can't and it has me feeling as if im just running in circles, which isn't bad, the scenary is pretty sometimes and at least its familiar and comfortable but eventually you reach the point where you realize that a circle will never allow progress

ok im done venting, i don't even know if this is damien rice related other than the fact that im listening to one of his songs which is the cause of this particular need vent so just ignore it or delete it or what not

what am i darling? [24 Dec 2004|08:41am]

And so Tonight I came home from a fun night consisting of a few drinks with friends. I came home at 2ish in the morning, went online and wrote her a quick email saying 'merry christmas' and all that. Cheers darlin' slipped into my playlist somehow and came on right as I finished writing to her, I guess you could say it was by chance. I then started this entry, four or five hours ago...Collapse )
